Successful Lettings for Sainsbury's

AGL have recently completed two deals for Sainsbury’s Supermarkets Limited, in York and Burton-Upon-Trent.

Sainsbury’s have completed the letting of a 35,000 sq ft York retail warehouse to Go Outdoors Ltd, the expanding Sheffield based outdoor equipment retailer.

The property, a former Homebase, is adjacent to an existing Sainsbury’s supermarket on Foss Bank and was let on a new 15 year lease at a rental of £300,000 pa. The York store will be Go Outdoors 30th store. AGL advised Sainsbury’s while Thompson Heaney acted for Go Outdoors.

Sainsbury’s have also completed the assignment of their lease at Coopers Square Shopping Centre in Burton, to B&M Retail. The former Woolworths unit reverted to Sainsbury’s under privity of contract, and, after an extensive marketing campaign, terms were successfully agreed with B&M.

AGL advised Sainsbury’s, Burns Property Consultants acted for B&M.

We’re delighted to complete these deals on behalf of Sainsbury’s, who are longstanding clients. In a challenging market we have secured two sound covenants,” comments Daniel Berrevoets, Angermann, Goddard & Loyd Director.
