The venue is part of a 100 acre campus, including 3 onsite DLR stations, easy access to the Jubilee Line and London City Airport, parking for 4,000 cars, 6 on-site hotels and approximately 1,600 residential waterfront apartments. The residential element is set to increase over the next few years.
Having been acquired by ADNEC Spring 2008, The ExCel Centre commenced construction of a £160m extension. Phase 2 will increase the current event space by almost 50% taking it to just under 100,000 square metres. Phase 2 opens Spring 2010.
Attracting over 5 million visitors from 200 different countries over the last few years, The ExCel Centre is home to 2 out of 3 of the UK’s largest consumer exhibitions and 8 out of 10 of London’s top trade events as well as being identified as an Olympic Venue for the London 2012.
